At a recent conference, hosted by the Migration Institute Australia, a representative from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection announced tighter rules on Partner visas to take place from mid-November this year.
According to the announcement, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection is planning to crack down on incomplete applications. Instead of sending out letters, requesting missing information/documentation, the department will consider refusing such applications, without giving the applicant the chance to produce further evidence.
The same principle has already been applied earlier this year to employer-sponsored visas resulting in a higher refusal rate of applications.
