The Tasmanian government has announced a number of key changes to the 2022 /23 Skilled State Nomination Program. At this stage on commencement date has been announced. The program remains closed until further notice.
Key changes to come, are:
For overseas applicants
- Invitation only: applicants will be able to register an expression of interest and only those who receive an invitation will be able to apply.
- Invitations will be issued to candidates with profiles that closely match industry requirements and with extensive work experience in select occupations.
- Easier access for candidates who have a job offer for a role in (or related to) their nominated occupation.
For skilled applicants residing in Tasmania
- Invitation only: applicants will be able to register an expression of interest and only those who receive an invitation will be able to apply.
- Easier access to State Nominations for applicants who have already established long-term residency in Tasmania and who are either employed or run their own business.
- Applicants who are working part-time or are subcontractors may be able to apply as well if they meet certain qualifying criteria.
For Graduates
- Invitation only: applicants will be able to register an expression of interest and only those who receive an invitation will be able to apply.
- Wider access across courses and occupations.
- A new pathway for PhD students.
