Last week the Government of WA announced that WA has met its skilled migration quota for 2021/22 and will subsequently shut down the program for the remainder of this financial year. The program will re-open in July 2022 when the Department of Home Affairs has allocated new places.
Candidates who have been approved but are still waiting for a visa outcome can expect their applications to get finalised as usual. Any new applications from candidates who meet WA’s criteria will be placed in a queue and processed once the Department has allocated new places.
